Terming the imposition of Governor’s rule in the State a well timed decision by NDA Government at the Centre headed by Narendra Modi, Bhat said Vohra with lot of experience at his command can fully tackle the issues in this trouble -torn State.
He said out of 6000 jobs announced by then Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh only 3000 appointments have been made so far and delaying the same has created a resentment among the community. He sought immediate intervention of the Governor so that remaining posts are also fulfilled. Besides he demanded announcement of more 3000 jobs for the community youth.
He said moreover the youth appointed in the Valley are passing through tough times on account of present unwarranted circumstances, inadequate living conditions and lack of accommodation facilities. Despite that the community youth have taken a big challenge in bringing back composite living in the Valley.
He said it is high time to revisit terms and conditions of these appointments which are difficult and draconian. “We earnestly hope that Governor who has been apprised of these problems number of times by YAIKS will resolve these suitably in a time bound manner especially settling the accommodation issue of package and non package employees.
YAIKS demanded that one time compensation of not less than fifty lakh be given to those youth who could not take the benefit of PM package to setup their own income generated units. Bhat said that vote banks politics should not devoid this microscopic community from availing their fundamental rights.
He appealed the Governor to redress the long pending grievance of the community by introducing reservation for them in political constituencies and Government services at different levels. At least three JK Assembly constituencies and 5% of posts in educational institutions and Government services should be reserved for them.
He demanded that Governor’s intervention is needed to direct SSRB and Relief Organization not to reserve SC/ST/ALC/OCS posts unnecessarily when Kashmir’s have not such categories available.
