SRINAGAR, July 4: Wular Sports Festival, which incorporates a galaxy of sports events lured people of all ages, who thronged the venue to witness the mega event.
On the second day of this three day Mega Event, Jashn-e-Wular Run was flagged off from Paribal Tekri in Bandipora.
Youth of 15 local villages, aging between 16 to 25 years participated in the event in large numbers.
The participants ran through Ashtingoo- Kehnusa and finished at Sangri, after covering a distance of 10 km. With over 80 participants competing, Asif Ahmed Khan of Watlab Ghat village secured first position with best timings of 37 minutes and 10 seconds. After the conduct of the Run, heats of Three Men and finals of Single Men categories of kistie race were organised.
Tomorrow will be the final day of the Festival, a large number of local spectators are expected to attend.
Witnessing the enthusiasm of finalists to win the prize money as well as participation of Water Sports Association, AGS Bandipora and Marcos are going to make it an unforgettable event.
The final day events will be a good mix of sports and cultural programme.
