SRINAGAR, July 6: Director General of Police (DGP), Prisons and Director, Fire and Emergency Services Dilbagh Singh reviewed preparedness of Fire and Emergency Services, here today.
He also held interaction with the officers and other ranks of Fire and Emergency Services including Command Officer of Kashmir Range.
Fire and Emergency Drill was exhibited wherein one hydraulic platform, three fire tenders and one emergency rescue tender participated along-with crew. He expressed satisfaction over the response time and conduct of the exercise.
DGP visited the Regional Workshop of Fire and Emergency Services to assess skill level and facilities available for keeping the fleet operational and in good working order.
He also visited general area and premises and directions were given on spot for overall cleanliness of the area.
DGP visited Welfare Centre and Medical Unit and the staff posted were given directions for proper use and maintenance of resources and medicines for welfare of the service personnel.
He also reviewed the working of the department with the Command Officers who briefed DGP regarding their areas and explained how well equipped they were to deal with Fire and Emergencies. Shortfalls in terms of manpower and equipment were noted and steps would be taken on war footing basis to attend the deficiencies so that the working of the organization could be made more effective and efficient.
He impressed upon the officers to continue the good work by them and the service personnel under their command and assured all assistance from the Directorate.
