Dogra Front stages protest

JAMMU, July 6: Dogra Front and Shiv Sena activists led by their President Ashok Gupta here today staged a protest demonstration against the disrespecting of National Anthem by some students during a convocation ceremony in Central University of Kashmir (CUK).
Addressing the protesters Gupta said that a video has gone viral showing a group of students of CUK not standing while the National Anthem was being sung at the convocation ceremony.
He informed that Ministry of Home Affairs has laid down guidelines making it mandatory for the audience to stand-up while the National Anthem is being played.
He demanded probe into the incident and demanded registering of an FIR against those found involved in the incident apart from their termination from college with their degrees cancelled.
“Irrespective of political ideologies, one should always respect the National Anthem,” he maintained.
He said that our soldiers are laying their lives for the National Flag and National Anthem and it is the moral duty of every citizen to respect and honour them.
Those who were present in the protest were Bantu, Nikku, Kalu, Geeta and others.
