Bovines smuggling bids foiled; 15 cattle rescued, 3 arrested

JAMMU, July 18: Banihal and Dessa police foiled bovines smuggling bids by rescuing 15 cattle and arresting three persons.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Banihal Police Station laid a naka at T Chowk and signaled a Tata Mobile to stop for checking.
On seeing police cops, the driver accelerated the vehicle, broke the barriers and escaped from the spot. Stinking something fishy, the cops chased and vehicle and intercepted it near Tethar.
During checking, police rescued 5 cattle from the vehicle and arrested the bovines smuggler, who has been identified as Shah Mohammad, son of Rehmat Ali, a resident of Kanna Chargal, District Jammu.
A case under FIR Number 120/18 under Section 188 RPC and 3 PCA Act has been registered at Banihal Police Station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Banihal Inspector Aejaz Wani foiled the cattle smuggling under the supervision of SDPO Banihal Sajjad Sarwar, Additional SP Ramban Sanjay Parihar and SSP Ramban Mohan Lal.
Meanwhile, a team from Dessa Police Station laid a naka at Laloor Dhanna Dhar and intercepted two persons carrying flock of cattle. During questioning, it came to fore that both the persons were smuggling the cattle.
Police arrested both the persons and rescued 10 cattle from their possession.
The arrested persons have been identified as Javed Ahmed, son of Abdul Rehman Sheikh of Lahri Kastigarh and Ghulam Hussain, son of Ghulam Qadir of Poti Kastigarh.
A case under FIR Number 11/18 under Section 188 RPC and 3 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Dessa and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Dessa Inspector Inderpal Singh made the arrest under the supervision of  DySP Headquarters Doda Iftkhar Ahmed and SSP Doda Mohammad Shabir.
