JAMMU, July 22: The 7-days Special Camp organized by Cluster University of Jammu at GGM Science College Jammu on the theme “Youth and Disaster Management” concluded with a One Day Activity Workshop at Mansar and a Motivational Lecture at Govt MAM College, here.
The programme started with a song followed by detailed report by Dr. Sangeeta Sudan in which she highlighted the main activities carried out during the camp for arousing the young minds towards community services.
The workshop was on the theme “Promoting Eco-tourism and Preseving water Bodies for an Eco- Friendly Environment”.
The students participated in slogan writing and poster making competitions in addition to the cleanliness drive. The workshop was presided over by Prof Anju Bhasin, Vice Chancellor of Cluster University of Jammu.
The dignitaries present on the occasion were Dean Academic Affairs Prof. Poonam Dhawan, Registrar CLUJ, Dr. Jatinder Khajuria, Controller Prof ZA Hashmi, Nodal Principal GGM Science College, Dr Satinder Singh.
Prof Mushtaq Lone, Dean Education, Prof Naresh Gupta, Dean Social Sciences, Dr Geetanjali Rana, Dean Arts were the judges for the poster making competition. Dr Jatinder Khajuria, Registrar, CLUJ, Prof ZA Hashmi, Controller Examination and Dr Bhopinder Singh, Dean Engineering and Computer Technology were the jury for slogan writing contest.
Prof Bhasin in her address assured that such activities would be a regular feature of Cluster University of Jammu.
She distributed prizes to the winners of different activities.
In slogan writing competition, the first prize was won by Konika Sharma of GCW Gandhi Nagar, 2nd prize by Tanvi Sharma of GCOE, 3rd prize by Muskan Sawhney of GCW, Gandhi Nagar and the consolation prize by Muzimal of MAM college.
In poster making competition, the first prize was bagged by Neha of GCOE, 2nd prize by Diksha of GCOE, 3rd by Arushi of GCW, Gandhi Nagar and consolation by Aanchal of MAM College.
The function concluded with a formal vote of thanks by Dr. Twinkle Suri, Dean Students Welfare, Cluster University of Jammu.
