JAMMU, July 22: An adhoc committee of life members of Indian Medical Association (IMA) was formed today to revive IMA Jammu Chapter.
The committee was formed during a meeting of the life members of IMA held here at Amar Singh Club. The meeting was attended by Ex-Health Minister, Dr Devinder Kumar Manyal, who himself is a life members of IMA, along with prominent IMA members of Jammu like Dr Vijay Gupta (Ex Principal GMC Jammu), Dr R Madan (Ex HoD Gynae), Dr R P Kudyar (Ex HoD Medicine), Dr Annil Mahajan (HoD Medicine), Dr Bharat Bhushan Gupta (Ex HoD Medicine), Dr Gurjeet Singh (Ex HoD CTVS) and other prominent doctors of Jammu.
In the meeting, it was unanimously agreed upon that IMA Jammu is to be revived and activities to be started afresh. In this regard, an adhoc committee comprising Dr Devinder Kumar Manyal, Dr Vijay Gupta, Dr R Madan, Dr Annil Mahajan, Dr Bharat Bhushan Gupta, Dr Gurjeet Singh, Dr Vinay Ram Pal, Dr Yudhister Gupta, Dr Ram Kumar and Dr Arun Arora was formed. Dr Sanjeev Narang was assigned the task of member secretary.
Indian Medical Association is the only representative, national voluntary organization of doctors of Modern Scientific System of Medicine, which looks after the interest of doctors as well as the well being of the community at large. Its objectives are to promote and advance medical and allied sciences in all their different branches and to promote the improvement of public health and medical education in India.
