DDC honours players as Friends Club lifts District Kishtwar JKCA Premier C’ship title

KISHTWAR, July 23: Outplaying Asrariya Cricket Club by a huge margin of 121 runs, Friends Cricket Club Kishtwar lifted the title trophy of the District Kishtwar JKCA Premier Championsip, organised by the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association at Choghan Cricket ground, here.
20 teams participated in this Championship which was aimed at giving chance to the players to showcase their talent and reserve berth as probable for JKCA selection trials.
The tournament was organised under the overall supervision of Sham Saroop Kalsotra, Committee Member, JKCA, Jammu.
District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kishtwar, Angrez Singh Rana was the chief guest was the chief guest on the occasion, who along with guests of honour namely Sham Saroop Kalsotra; Chander Mohan Sharma; ASP Kishtwar; Col Vijyant Mahadik, Major Kausal Sharma and Deewan Chand Thakur DYSSO distributed prizes among the winners and runners-up teams.
Arshad Amin and Lalit Sharma, the Coordinators of Kishtwar District Tournament Organising Committee were also present on the occasion.
The Tournament was held under the overall observation of former Ranji Trophy Player, Sameer Malik.
Earlier, batting first, Friends Cricket Club scored a good total of 211 runs. Jaspreet top scored with 80 runs while Umar contributed 59 runs to the total.
In reply, Asrariya Cricket Club bundled out for paltry total of 90 runs to lose the match by 121 runs. Azhar and Sahiyam chipped in with 16 runs each. For Friends Cricket Club, Danish took 3 wickets, while Jaspreet, Akram and Rafi shared 2 wickets each. Jaspreet was adjudged as the man of the match for his all-round display.
