JAMMU, July 26: Stadium XI and Dewan Cricket Club registered emphatic victories over their rivals in the ongoing Tennis Cricket Night Tournament at BHSS, here today.
In the first match, Stadium XI defeated Aryans Club by 15 runs in a close contest. Batting first, Stadium XI set a target of 76 runs in 10 overs for the loss of 6 wickets. Chasing a target of 77 runs, Aryans Club made 62 runs to lose the match by 15 runs. For Stadium XI, Sumit was the star performer, who top scored with 29 runs and took 3 wickets for conceding just 6 runs.
In another match, Dewan Club trounced Rufi Club by 15 runs.
Batting first, Dewan Club scored 69 runs. Imran scored 28 runs.
In reply, Rufi Club bundled out for 54 runs to lose the match by 15 runs.
Shahnawaz Deewan was the chief guest on the occasion.
The tournament is being organised under the banner of Ehsaas Foundation and under the supervision of Parvaiz Malik, Chairman of the Ehsaas Foundation and Gurvinder Singh, Organising Secretary.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Narinder Singh, Pawan Sharma, Imtiaz Ahmed, Naveed Wasal, Lucky Singh, Waheed Ahmed, Arshad Chowdhary, Matinder Pal Singh and Rajinder Singh.
The matches were officiated by Imran, Gurmeet Singh, Ankush Sharma, Iftikhar Bhatti, Navjot Singh, Manik Bharghav, Sukhpreet Singh, Zaffar Shah and Imran Khan.
