HC grants 4 weeks time for filing Development Plan for Gharana

JAMMU, July 26: In the much publicized Public Interest Litigation regarding preservation of Gharana wetland, Division Bench of State High Court comprising Acting Chief Justice Alok Aradhe and Justice Sanjay Kumar Gupta today granted four weeks time for filing status report with regard to revised Integrated Development Plan and Sewage Treatment Plant as well as status of proceedings initiated for acquiring 408 kanals of land for enhancing wetland.
Division Bench also granted four weeks time for submitting status report with regard to National Parks, Wildlife Sanctuaries, Game Reserves, Wetland Reserves, Man and Biosphere Reserve.
Earlier, when the PIL came-up for hearing, Division Bench observed, “this court by an order dated 05.03.2018 had directed the respondents to submit the revised Integrated Development Plan as well as to take steps for functioning of Sewage Treatment Plant and to apprise this court with regard to status of proceedings initiated for acquiring 408 kanals of land for enhancing wetland”.
“Senior Additional Advocate General HA Sadiqqui prays for time to file status report with regard to revised Integrated Development Plan and Sewage Treatment Plant as well as status of proceedings initiated for acquiring 408 kanals of land for enhancing wetland”, the DB further observed, adding “ad-interim directions, if any, issued on the earlier occasion shall continue till next date of hearing”.
