Man apprehended with illicit liquor bottles

RAMBAN, July 28: Khari police apprehended a man and recovered illicit liquor bottles from his possession.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Khari Police Post laid a naka near Harniyal and intercepted a person.
During checking, police recovered 7 bottles of illicit liquor from the possession of the person and arrested him.
The arrested person has been identified as Jabbar Kumar, son of Bashir Kumar, a resident of Kulgam, at present Mansa Bathinda Punjab.
He was carrying the illicit liquor to his native village for selling among the masses to make illegitimate profits.
A case under FIR Number 133/18 under Section 48-A Excise Act has been registered at Banihal Police Station and investigation started.
Police team led by Incharge Khari Police Post SI Wasim Mehraj made the arrest under the supervision of SHO Banihal Inspector Aejaz Ahmad, SDPO Banihal Sajjad Sarwar and SSP Ramban Mohan Lal.
It is pertinent to mention here that yesterday Khari Police arrested two persons including one hardcore liquor smuggler and recovered 52 bottles of illicit liquor from their possession.
