KISHTWAR, July 29: The Senior Superintendent of Police Kishtwar, Abrar Chowdhary inaugurated one day District Level Weightlifting Championship at Tourist Reception Centre, here today.
The championship is being organised by the State and District Level Weightlifting Associations.
While interacting with the players, management of the Association and the spectators, the SSP said that sports is the most vibrant means of channelizing the energy of the youth, cultural exchange among people of different areas beside formenting unity among different regions of the state and the country. He said the sports and games are the souls of a healthy body and a positive mind.
Among others present on the ocassion were Major Kaushal of 26 RR, Firdous Ahmed Mingnoo, President District Youth Congress Kishtwar, Inspector Sameer Jillani SHO Police Station Kishtwar, Rajan Jain J&K State General Secretary Weight Lifting Association, Advocate Zulkernain Chairman District Kishtwar Weightlifting Association and Dr Younis Beigh District General Secretary Weightlifting Association Kishtwar, besides renowned players and a large number of spectators and audience.
The Association presented a memento to the chief guest as a token of gratitude from the organisers.
