JAMMU, July 30: A delegation of Teli community here today met Khursheed Ahmed Ganai, Advisor to Governor N.N Vohra and highlighted the demands of their community.
The delegation was led by Mohd. Latif Malik Teli, prominent leader of the community and it demanded enhancement of reservation for Other Backward Classes (OBCs) from present 2 to 10 per cent.
Other demands included enhancement of income slab for OBCs category employees from existing 4.5 lakh per annum to 8 lakh for income tax purpose.
The delegation also demanded establishment of a hostel for the students of Teli community at Jammu so that far flung students of the community can stay in these hostel to pursue higher education.
Those who were present in the deputation were Mohd Younas Rahi, Gulsher Khan, Amjid Malik, Maqbool Hussain and Shabir Malik.
