JAMMU, Dec 24: While seeking a fair investigation into the mysterious death of young Akshay Verma, whose body was found lying at Railway Fatak at Channi Rama on September 24, the parents, relatives, friends and children of the area took out a candle light procession in Ploura area of the city here this evening.
The children and others carrying burning candles in hands were demanding justice for the parents, who lost their young son. The children were also carrying a large photograph of Akshay besides placards, demanding probe into the case by Special Investigation Team under the guidance of DGP. After passing through several adjoining localities, the torch light procession for justice culminated near the residence of Late Akshay Verma.
The parents alleged that police was trying to shield the killers and denying justice to the family. The hapless parents made an appeal to the Chief Minister and DG Police to constitute Special Investigation Team to solve the mystery and bring the killers of Akshay Verma to justice.
