Bovine smuggling bids foiled, 22 cattle rescued

RAJOURI,  Aug 3: The  Police today foiled  two bovine smuggling attempts  and rescued 22 cattle in  Rajouri district last night.
Official sources said that a police team headed by SHO Thanamandi, Insp  Nazir Ahmad Dar under the supervision of SDPO Thanamandi Iftikar Chowdhary intercepted a vehicle No. JK02W/ 2411 at a naka and  during checking found 11  bovines being smuggled to Kashmir via Mughal Road.
Two persons namely Mohd Sadiq, son of Abdul Hamid and Gafoor Ahmed, son of Mohd Yousuf, were arrested on the spot. In this connection, a case FIR No. 134/18 U/S 188 RPC, 3 PCA Act, 279, 336 RPC has been registered.
Another police team headed by Incharge Police Post Peeri under the supervision of SHO Kandi, Manzoor Kohli during early morning hours  intercepted two persons at Prori Brahamna and rescued 11 bovine animals which were being taken on foot.  The accused identified as  Mohd Sadiq, son of Khewan, resident of  Lah, Thanamandi and Jabbar Ahmed, son of Abdul, resident of Prori were arrested. A case FIR No. 94 U/S 188 RPC 3PC Act has been registered at Kandi Police Station.
