JAMMU, Aug 4: Trouncing DPS Jammu convincingly by (2-0) sets, Government Girls Higher Secondary School (GGHSS) Satwari won the Badminton title in the ongoing Inter-School District Level Tournament for Girls Under-19 years in the sports disciplines of Badminton, Yoga, Thang-tha, Wushu, Sqay, Judo, Fencing and Gymnastics of District Jammu concluded at Indoor Complex,
MA Stadium, here.
In Gymnastics Girls Under-19 years, Shweta Gupta of SM Jain HSS Jammu bagged 1st position in Artistic Gymnastics, while Sudipiti Khanna won second spot and Aakashika Sharma of KC Public School claimed 3rd place.
In Rythmic Gymnastics, 1st position went to Sneha Dewan of Oriential Academy Jammu, the 2nd position was bagged by Tawishi Singh of KC Public School and the 3rd position was claimed by Tannu Baloria of May Fair HSS Jammu.
Meanwhile, Gourav Chettri of Banyan International Jammu clinched 1st position in Artistic Gymnastics, while Manav Gupta of DPS Jammu and Dhruv Dewan of Ranbir HSS Jammu claimed 2nd and 3rd position respectively.
In all, 100 players drawn from 14 zones of Jammu District took part in the competitions, organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports under the patronage of Shiekh Fayaz Ahmad , Director General and under the overall supervision of Madan Lal, Joint Director.
Chanchal Kour, DYSSO Jammu was the Organising Secretary of the tournament.
The main objective of the competitions was to select the teams of Jammu District for the next level of competitions.
