Manohar flays Govt approach towards road side Rehri vendors

JAMMU, Aug 8: Senior Congress leader and former minister Dr Manohar Lal Sharma strongly criticised the Government approach towards the poor road side vendors.
In a press statement here Dr Sharma claimed that the Government has ordered removal of all vendors along road side with immediate effect .
Dr Manohar said that authorities have ordered removal of vendors without any concrete backup rehabilitation plan for them. He said that already state is facing alarming unemployment problem and the educated youth have helplessly joined the petty jobs on meager salary. The rest uneducated made their living by selling products as road side vendors.
Dr Sharma said that many of these road side vendors are the sole bread earners of their families and are working hard to meet two ends meal. However,  this move will bring dark times not only for them but for their small children and elder parents .
Dr Sharma demanded that these vendors should be allotted specific sites along Dayalachak, Galak, Challan, Nagrota Gujroo, Thara Kalyal, Ggurha, Mandli, Dharmkote, Phinter  etc where a vendor market can be created.   He said these hapless youth shouldn’t be deprived of their livelihood.
