JAMMU, Aug 25: Two persons were killed today in separate road mishaps in city outskirts.
“A speeding mini-bus this afternoon hit a bike rider namely Baljeet Singh, son of Satnam Singh, resident of Nagrota due to which he died on the spot”, a police official said.
He said that body of the deceased was shifted to mortuary room of Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu while Miran Sahib police had registered a case in this connection and started investigations. “Both the vehicles involved in the mishap were also seized”, he added.
Meanwhile, a young man identified as Vishal (27) son of Ashok, resident of Old Rehari, sustained serious when an unknown vehicle hit the scooter on which he was travelling, at Sidhra-Panjtirthi road. He was immediately rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where doctors declared him as brought dead.
After postmortem, the body of the deceased was handed over to its legal heirs for last rites while a case in this connection was registered at police station Nagrota and investigations started.
