REASI, Aug 25: With an aim to bring in communal harmony and inculcate sportsman spirit amongst the youth of Reasi District a Cricket Tournament was held from August 4 to Aug 25. 2018 at Sungri by the Indian Army, in coordination with Bagga and Sungri Cricket Association.
The event was aimed to assist the Army’s efforts to promote positive youth development through sports and provide a platform to showcase the hidden talent of local populace especially the youth.
21 teams from various villages of far flung and remote areas of Reasi District participated in the tournament on league cum knock-out basis.
MCC Bagga was eventually adjudged the champion team after beating BBCC Sungri in a keenly contested match.
According to the organisers, all the participating team members displayed excellent sportsman spirit during the conduct of the tournament.
