Notorious drugs peddler arrested with cannabis

RAMBAN, Aug 27: Banihal police arrested a notorious drugs peddler and recovered 100 grams of cannabis from his possession.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Banihal Police Station laid a naka near T Chowk and intercepted a pedestrian, who was moving under suspicious circumstances.
During checking, police recovered 100 grams of cannabis from the possession of the pedestrian and arrested him.
The arrested person has been identified as Mohammad Rafiq, son of Ghulam Nabi, a resident of Dooligam. The accused was a notorious drugs peddler and used to sell the consignment among the youth. With his arrest, police saved the youth from becoming drug addicts.
A case under FIR Number 142/18 under Section 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered at Banihal Police Station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Banihal Inspector Aejaz Ahmed Wani made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Banihal Sajjad Sarwar, Additional SP Ramban Sanjay Parihar and SSP Ramban Anita Sharma.
