KATHUA, Dec 29: Sandhu Cricket Club, Ludhiana defeated Gurdaspur XI by 23 runs in a low scoring match of the 3rd Police Martyrs Memorial North Zone T20 Cricket Tournament at Sports Stadium, here today.
Batting first, SCC Ludhiana scored 114 runs in the stipulated overs by losing 5 wickets. Gourav Gambhir was the top scorer with 24 runs.
Gurdaspur XI, in reply managed to score 91 runs in 20 overs by losing 8 wickets, thus lost the match by 23 runs. Gourav Gambhir was declared man of the match for scoring 24 runs and taking one wicket. He was awarded a cash prize of Rs 1500 and a trophy sponsored by contractor Amarjeet Singh.
The tournament is being organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Police Department to promote sports in the State and enhance Police-Public relationship.
