JAMMU, Aug 29: National Conference (NC) Women Wing Vice President, Bimla Luthra has asked the workers of the party especially women to gear up for the upcoming Panchayat polls.
Addressing NC women workers at Maralian, R.S Pura today, she said that women have to come forward in a big way to play their role in decision making at the grass roots level democratic institutions for the holistic development of rural areas.
She said that political empowerment of women is imperative for harmonious growth of the society.
Luthra also said that politically sagacious people have to play their role in heralding peace and strengthening the bonds of unity and brotherhood between various segments of the society.
On this occasion many BJP women workers joined NC and were welcomed into the party by Luthra, who said that NC is the only party that can take out the State from present morass to ensure equitable development of all.
Prominent among those were present on the occasion included Veena Devi, Jyoti Devi, Rani Devi, Tilky Raj Rani and others.
