Ludhiana resident arrested with poppy straw

JAMMU, Aug 29: Pacca Danga police under ‘Operation Sanjeevani’ arrested a Ludhiana resident along with 12.50 kilograms of poppy straw.
As per police sources, on reliable information, a team from Pacca Danga Police Station laid a naka near Manda and intercepted a person, who was moving under suspicious circumstances.
During checking, police recovered 12.50 kilograms of poppy straw from the possession of the pedestrian and arrested him.
The arrested person has been identified as Surjit Singh, son of Avtar Singh of Talwandi Ludhiana.
A case under FIR Number 132/18 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Pacca Danga and further investigation of the case is going on.
Police team led by SHO Pacca Danga SI Dheeraj Nagpal made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO City Varun Jandial, Incharge SP City GL Sharma and SSP Jammu Vivek Gupta.
