UDHAMPUR, Aug 29: Up in arms against worst condition of Ramnagar to Basantgarh road, locals of village Shatrrari today held a strong protest against R&B Department.
Shouting slogans against the R&B Department and the District administration, the protesting villagers were demanding black topping of the road.
Due to extremely poor condition of this 62- kilometer Ramnagar to Basantgarh road, passenger take 4 to 5 hours in traveling the distance while in the rainy days, it becomes almost impossible to ply vehicles on this stretch, which becomes dangerous.
The protesting villagers lamented that despite repeated pleas to the Government and the concerned authorities, there was no action to repair the road with the result that the locals were facing acute problems and exposed to danger of accidents.
The villagers threatened to continue the protests if no immediate action is taken to repair the road.
