SAMBA, Aug 31: After rendering a huge and tacit support in transmission and restoration of electric supply to the country, Powergrid today came forward to provide a small help in Education Sector after J P Singh, Executive Director, Powergrid, Northern Region-II handed over six computers to Government Girls Model Higher Secondary School (GGMHS) Samba.
J P Singh inaugurated the computer lab in the presence of J K Raina, Principal, Government, Girls Model Higher Secondary School Samba, senior officials of Powergrid, teachers and students of the school.
Besides, J P Singh also handed over hygiene kits to the students and dustbins to School authorities mentioning the indispensable role of swachhtta and hygiene in day to day life activities. Singh also motivated students to work hard and adopt discipline in their life in order to become successful.
On this occasion Singh highlighted various CSR activities being undertaken by the Powergrid and stressed on the fact that CSR activities by Powergrid are the manifestation of its commitment to a better future for all and helping the nation in building a sustained and self-dependent social structure.
It would be pertinent to mention that Powergrid has been contributing significantly to the social sector of the country in addition to its core obligations. Powergrid has been carrying out extensive community development works such as natural resource management, rural infrastructure development, health, education, skill based, livelihood developments etc. across the country under its corporate responsibility schemes.
