JAMMU, Sept 1: Dogra Brahman Pratinidhi Sabha today demanded immediate creation of J&K State Minority Commission.
“Despite Supreme Court directions, the State of J&K has till date not identified and notified Minority in J&K due to which majority community of the State is getting all benefits meant for the minorities”, said Ved Parkash Sharma, president of the Sabha while interacting with media person here today.
He announced that DBPS has resolved to fight for the grant of minority status for minority population and creation of J&K State Minority Commission with the support of others, social and cultural organization.
Sr Advocate P C Sharma, who was also present on the occasion, said that this is a gross violation of fundamental rights, especially Articles 29 and 30 meant exclusively for minorities.
During the press conference, DBPS president also disclosed that two-day Virat Dharam Samelan is going to held on Sept. 12-13 in the premises of Bhawan Parshuram hall of Dogra Brahman Pratinidhi Sabha in which world known religious scholar Saint Shri Hari Chetnya Maha Parbhu will deliver the religious lecture from 3.00 pm. to 6.00 pm.
Sabha appealed to people of Jammu region to participate in the Virat Dharam Samelan and seek the blessing of Maha Parbhu.
Among others, who were present on the occasion, included Satyanand Sharma, Subash Shastri, Jagan Nath Sharma, Ramesh Sharma, Gurdas Sharma, Sat Pal Sharma and Sat Pal Khajuria.
