UDHAMPUR, Sept 2: Garnering the mass support in Marathon ‘Run against drug eviction’scores of youth participated and vowed against drugs.
Marathon starting from Garnai to Rathian was organised at Udhampur Constuency to aware youth and common public against drugs.
Being organized by Dogra Kranti Dal (NGO Reg no 3666) for the first time in Udhampur, about 350 number of youth including 20 Girls & 340 Boys from Garnai & Malhar Panchayat took part in it.
Former MLA and Patron Balwant Singh Mankotia was the chief guest on the occasion.
Mankotia declared the Marathon open by showing green flag. Girls Marathon started first, which was followed by the boys.
Mankotia addressed the Youth after the Marathon and said that participation of such a large number of youth in this Marathon for a war against drugs has set an example in the whole constituency and the state as well.
Mankotia appealed to youth and locals to make every person and home aware of drugs. They should take resolution to never touch such a life threatening thing.
In lastly, Felicitation ceremony was organised in which first prize of Rs 5100 was given to Joginder Kumar in boys category, second prize of Rs 3100 to Sandeep Sharma and third prize of Rs 2100 to Akhil Sharma in boys category.
In girls category, first position was won by Simran Sharma second by Shamshaad Bibi and third position by Isha Verma.
Participation certificates were also distributed on the occasion.
First 20 participants were also awarded with prizes and cash.
