LPEF expresses concern over heavy insurance premium

JAMMU, Sept 6: Low Paid Government Employees Federation (LPEF) here today has expressed concern over the ‘heavy annual premium’ being charged from the employees and pensioners for Group Mediclaim Insurance scheme.
In a handout, Abdul Majid Khan—Federation President said that State Administrative Council has approved annual premium of Rs 8777 and Rs 22,228 from the employees and pensioners for Group Mediclaim Insurance scheme.
He further said that the Group Mediclaim Insurance scheme appears to be highly disadvantageous for the employees and pensioners and the authorities concerned should do something in this regard.
He also demanded the release of two percent dearness allowance instalment from July 2018.
Khan also demanded a hike in Medical Allowance from Rs 300 to Rs 1000 per month.
