JAMMU, Sept 6: Two days 1st District Jammu Kalarippayattu Championship got underway at Kotli Bhawan, Rehari, here today.
The Championship id being organized by the District Jammu Kalarippayattu Association under the banner of Kalarippayattu Association of Jammu & Kashmr.
220 students are participating in the Championship. The players have been drawn from KC International School, Shangrilla Public School, Army Public School, Anuradha Mission Public School, International Delhi Public School, Delhi Public School, JK Montisouri Hr Secondary School, Carmal Convent School, Bhartiya Siksha Kendriya School, Major Institute of Education and Ultimax Mixed Martial Arts Academy.
On the first day of the Championship the prize distribution ceremony was attended by Dr SM Bali, Joint Secretary Indian Olympic Association as chief guest.
The Championship was conducted under the supervision of Danish Sharma.
Dr Bali lavished praise on the organisers for holding this mega Championship.
