JAMMU, Jan 1: All Jammu Kashmir Panchayat Conference (AJKPC) today expressed concern over the fresh threat posters, which appeared in panchayat Dhaaram and Dhalawa in block Gool, district Ramban.
The Panchs and Sarpanchs of the State have been threatened to resign from their posts and asked to support the terror organization otherwise they will face dire consequences, told Anil Sharma, general secretary, AJKPC.
He said that none of the 33,000 Panchs and Sarpanchs will resign from their post and will continue to strengthen the democracy at grass root level.
“We had apprised the Union Home Secretary and DGP to ensure security of the Panchayat members but unfortunately till date no action has been taken by them and the innocent Panchs and Sarpanchs are left without any security”, he added.
Shafiq Mir, Chairman, AJKPC said pasting of such posters in Jammu region has happened first time and it is very serious matter. He said that these terror posters in Jammu region negate the statement given by the Chief Minister where he has said that there are no terrorists in Jammu region.
