JAMMU, Jan 11: Jammu division boys and girls got better of their counterparts in Kashmir division in the Inter-Division Under-19 Boys and Girls Kho-Kho Tournament which got underway at Youth Hostel Nagrota, here today.
The tournament which is being organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports as part of its Annual Calendar of Activities, was inaugurated by Tirath Ram, District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Jammu in a simple function.
Earlier, in Under-19 boys, Jammu outclassed Kashmir by five points (10-05). Kulwinder Singh, Shahid Hussain and Ajay Kumar were the top performers from Jammu.
In Under-19 girls, Jammu drubbed Kashmir in an easy contest by 9 points (12-03), with Shivani Sharma, Diksha Manhas and Indu Sharma being the main performers.
The matches were officiated by Suraj Dev Singh, Narayan Singh, Balwan Singh and Gagan Kumar, while prominent among others present on the occasion were Jeet Singh, zonal physical education officer, Dansal, Rajesh Sambyal, Warden Youth Hostel Nagrota, Jasdev Singh and Gurbachan Singh.
