Street Warriors to take on Singh Club in T20 summit clash

AKHNOOR, Jan 13: Street Warriors will lock horns with Singh Cricket Club (SCC) Akhnoor in the final of the Christmas Cup T20 Cricket Tournament, being organized by Singh Cricket Club at Government Higher Secondary School grounds, here.
Earlier, in the second semifinal played today, SCC drubbed Friends Cricket Club Akhnoor by 8 wickets in an easy contest. Street Warriors has already sealed berth in the finals.
Batting first, FCC scored a modest total of 114 runs in 19.3 overs. Mohit was the top scorer with 33 runs, while Rohit Sharma and Binny Kesar contributed 20 and 19 runs to the total respectively. Atul Gupta was the wrecker-in-chief for SCC, who captured 4 important wickets in his 4 overs by conceding 14 runs, while Sham Singh Langeh took 2 wickets by giving away 17 runs in his quota of 4 overs. Sushil Gupta, Chandan and Sonu Manhotra also claimed one wicket apiece.
In reply, SCC scored the required runs in 10.5 overs by losing 2 wickets, thus won the match by 8 wickets. Rahul Mani scored power-packed 43 runs off just 16 balls with the help of 5 fours and 3 sixes, while Sushil Sharma and Sunny Kumar 38 and 34 runs to the total respectively. Sushil hit 2 fours and 3 sixes, while Sunny struck 7 boundaries in his knock. For FCC, Arun Singh bagged 2 wickets. Atul Gupta was adjudged man of the match for his superb bowling display.
The match was officiated by Vikas Bali and Rajiv Sharma as umpires, while Shravan Sharma maintained the scorebook.
