Four shops gutted in fire

JAMMU, Jan 13: Four shops were gutted in devastating fire which erupted in the main market of holy town of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi.
Police spokesman said that, a major fire broke out in a shop, which later engulfed three other shops in main market, Katra.
On getting information, police party led by SP Mohan Lal rushed to the spot and fire tenders were pressed in to service to douse the flames.
“The fire broke at around 2130 hrs last night and the fire tenders along with the teams of fire fighters rushed to the spot to avoid any untoward incident, spokesman said, adding that no injury or casualty in the incident has been reported. The exact loss could not be ascertained immediately.
The shops, which gutted in the fire incident were Dubey Bag House, New Jagdhambay Store, Dindayal Boot House and Rudara Shawls Emporium.
A spokesman of Fire and Emergency Services Department said that two fire tenders were pressed into service to douse the flames.
