JAMMU, Oct 6: A meeting under the chairmanship of Dr Naseem Javaiad Chowdhary, Secretary J&K State Sports Council was held in his office chambers, here, during which the issue of hosting ‘Pre-I League J&K Invitation Football Cup’ was discussed.
The Chairman was apprised about various arrangements being made, including constitution of various sub-committees for smooth conduct of the tournament.
‘Pre-I League J&K Invitational Cup’, a knockout tournament in which some of the country’s top clubs including I-League champion Minerva FC, Belgaluru FC, Mohammadan Sporting FC, Hindustan FC are participating, is being organised jointly by the J&K State Sports Council and J&K Football Association.
The tournament is all set to start from October 16, 2018 at TRC synthetic turf and it would feature eight teams including four local teams namely I-league debutant Real Kashmir FC, J&K Bank FC, Lonestar FC and State Football Academy FC.
Besides trophies, the winning team will be awarded with a cash prize of Rs 3 lakhs while as the runners-up Team will receive a cash prize of Rs one lakh.
