Ghagwal police rescues 16 bovines, arrests driver

SAMBA, Oct 18: Tightening noose on activities of bovine smugglers, District Police Samba under the overall supervision of Dr Koshal Sharma, SSP Samba foiled a bovine smuggling attempt and rescued 16 bovines.
A police party of PS Ghagwal headed by Sub Inspector, Bansi Lal, SHO Ghagwal under the close supervision of Deepak Digra, Dy.SP Headquarters Samba, during routine naka checking at NHW Tapyal signalled a truck bearing Registration No. JK02AK/3037which was coming from Kathua side to stop but seeing the police the driver accelerated the speed and tried to escape from the spot.
But the police chased the truck and intercepted it near NHW Jatwal. During checking of the vehicle16 bovines were found laden inside it which were being transported illegally. The driver namely, Maan Singh 45, son of Tara Singh of Batra tehsil Kot Pahwal district Jammu was arrested and all the bovine animals were rescued.
In this regard a case FIR No. 137/2018 U/S 188 RPC, 2/3 PCA Act, has been registered at P/S Ghagwal and investigation started.
