Inter-District Badminton Tournament gets underway

JAMMU, Oct 19: Divisional Level Inter-District Tournament in the sports discipline of Badminton under all age groups boys and girls got underway at BSF, Paloura, here today.
The participants of 6 districts of Jammu division are taking part in the Tournament.
The Tournament is being organised by the Department of Youth Services & Sports under the patronage of Dr Saleem-Ul-Rehman, Director General, Youth Services and Sports and under the overall supervision of Madan Lal, Joint Director. Chanchal Kour, District Youth Services & Sports Officer Jammu is the Organising Secretary of the Tournament.
184 boys and girls are taking part in the tournament, the main objective of which is to select the teams/players for the next level of competitions.
Earlier, in Badminton Under-14 boys, District Jammu beat District Samba by 2-0 and District Kathua defeated District Udhampur by 2-0, while in Under-17 boys, District Samba trounced District Rajouri by 2-0 and District Udhampur outplayed District Poonch by 2-0. In Under-19 boys, District Poonch drubbed District Samba by 2-0.
In Under-14 girls, District Jammu prevailed over District Udhampur by 2-0 and District Kathua beat District Samba by 2-1, while in District Kathua beat District Samba by 2-0 and in Under-19 girls, District Jammu beat District Samba by 2-0.
