General Council of KPS holds meet

JAMMU, Jan 21: General Council meeting of KP Sabha was held here today under the chairmanship of its president K K Khosa in connection with centenary celebrations of the Sabha.
Mr Khosa appraised the members that 100th year of the existence of the Sabha falls on February 21, 2013 and it will culminate on February 21, 2014. The meeting decided to celebrate the centenary year in a befitting manner to highlight its contributions in fulfilling the socio-religious aspirations of the people since 1914.
Mr Khosa said KP Sabha has been registered by an order of the then Maharaja Pratap Singh and great luminaries of KP society contributed from time to time for the welfare of the society.
Mr Khosa also nominated Ashok Braroo as the convener of the Centenary Celebrations Organising Committee, Ashwani Kaul, B L Bhagati, Ashok Khar and Subash Dhar were nominated as conveners of the Sub Committee. Various porogrammes to be launched during the centenary year were suggested and discussed.
The meeting also discussed the prevailing situation and problems being faced by the community on all fronts. Mr Khosa said that State as well as Central Government has marginalized the community in economic, educational and political dispensation and the community has to seriously evolve a consensus to force the Government to shun its anti Pandit policies.
He alleged the announcements and pronouncements made by the Chief Minister in Apex Committee meetings and other foras regarding the enhancement of relief, implementation of PM’s package and passage of Shrines and Temples Bill have not seen the light of the day.
