JAMMU, Jan 23: Clocking a time of (00:12:03) seconds, Krishna Murari of Jammu division bagged gold in Under-19 boys 100 mts sprint race of the State Level Inter-Division Athletic Meet which got underway at University grounds, here today.
The silver medal in this event went to Yasir Bashir of Kashmir division, who clocked (00:12:06) seconds.
The Meet, which is being organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports under the supervision of Deputy Director Ashok Kumar was declared open by the Director Youth Services and Sports, S Jaipal Singh in a well attended function. He was accompanied by Joint Director, Madan Lal.
Speaking on the occasion, Jaipal Singh said that only those players would be sent for nationals who have consistent standard performance at the domestic scene.
Meanwhile, in 5000 mts Under-19 boys, Shaheen Ahmed Bhat of Kashmir division clinched gold, while in long jump Under-19 boys, Rakesh Singh of Jammu bagged gold and Yasir Bashir of Kashmir claimed silver.
In 800 mts Under-19 boys, Yashpal Tinku of Jammu bagged gold, while Majid Nabi of Kashmir claimed silver.
The long jump Under-17 boys gold went to Rahul Sharma of Jammu and the silver in this event was bagged by Majid Nabi of Kashmir, while Rajinder Kumar of Jammu and Faisal of Kashmir bagged long jump Under-14 boys gold and silver respectively. The high jump Under-14 boys gold went to Kajal Singh of Jammu, while the high jump Under-17 boys gold and silver went to Firdous of Jammu and Sanjay Singh of Kashmir respectively.
Pardeep Sharma of Jammu bagged gold in high jump Under-19 boys, while the silver in this event went to Arif Hussain of Kashmir.
In 100 mts Under-17 boys, Ishfaq Ahmed Dar of Kashmir claimed gold, while Roshan Din of Jammu bagged silver. Under-14 boys 100 mts gold was bagged by Rajinder Kumar of Jammu, while Faisal Ahmed Mughal of Kashmir bagged silver in this event.
600 mts Under-14 girls gold went to Iram Imtiyaz of Kashmir, while Huma Bibi of Jammu claimed silver. The 800 mts Under-19 girls gold and silver went to Anita Rani of Jammu and Arifa Akhtar of Kashmir respectively.
High jump Under-17 girls gold was bagged by Saime of Kashmir, while Rajni Sharma of Jammu claimed silver.
Rajni Devi of Jammu bagged gold in long jump Under-14 girls, while Radha Devi of Jammu bagged silver and Beauty Jan of Kashmir claimed bronze. Long jump Under-17 girls gold, silver and bronze went to Jaswinder Kour of Jammu, Ishrat Jan of Kashmir and Poonam Sharma of Jammu respectively.
Priyanka Sumbriya of Jammu, Jasmeen Chib of Jammu and Arifa Akhtar of Kashmir claimed gold, silver and bronze medals in long jump Under-19 girls event respectively.
In 100 mts Under-14 girls, gold medal went to Sapna Devi of Jammu, while the silver was bagged by Sumera Manzoor of Kashmir.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Surinder Singh, Lecturer in Physical Education and Zonal Physical Education Officers Chanchal Kour, Darbara Singh and Sher Singh.
