JAMMU, Dec 6: After a splendid bowling display by left-arm spinner Javid Ahmed and left-arm medium pacer Mujtaba Yousuf in the first innings, right-arm leg-spinner Govind Sharma scalped 5 important wickets to help Jammu and Kashmir crush Tripura by a huge margin of 247 runs in the Cooch Behar Under-19 Boys Cricket Tournament at Country Cricket Stadium, here today.
Chasing a huge total of 413 runs, Tripura resumed their innings at overnight score of 132/7, bundled out for 165 runs to lose the match by a big margin. Govind Sharma was the pick of the bowlers, who took 5 wickets by conceding 47 runs in 15 overs, while first innings hero Javid Ahmed took 2 wickets. The medium pace duo of Rasikh Salam and Mujtaba Yousuf claimed one wicket each. Babul Dey (28) and Skipper Sankar Paul (23) were the main contributors from Tripura.
The Jammu and Kashmir team is being accompanied by Syed Israr as manager, Ashiq Aziz as Assistant Manager, Suresh Singh as Coach, Asif Jeelani as batting coach, Anoop Mangotra as bowling coach, Wani Burhan as Physio and Dalbir Singh as trainer.
