JAMMU, Dec 7: Two days Jammu District Judo Championship got underway at Indoor Complex, MA Stadium, here today.
Around 300 Judokas from different schools participated in the Championship. Ravi Singh, Divisional Sports Officer was the chief guest who declared the Championship open and later-on presented medals to winners of day-1 of the Championship.
Shilpa Mahajan, Corporator Ward No-6 was the guest of honour.
The Championship is being organized by J&K Judo Association under the aegis of J&K State Sports Council and J&K Olympic Association.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Satish Gupta, Manager Indoor Complex, Iqbal Singh, Varinder Dogra, Suraj Sharma, Kuljeet Singh, Rohit Sadhotra, Manish Chatwal, Rajesh Verma, Aman Gupta, Sajaan, Avinash Sharma & Konika were present.
The bouts were officiated by Suraj Bhan Singh, Arshi Nad, Vikas Dogra & Ritika Slathia, coaches of J&K State Sports Council.
The gold medal winners in various weight categories of Senior Boys included Virvadhra Singh, Varun Sharma, Ritesh Thakur, Paramveer Singh, Sajjan Sharma, and Shubam Kerni, while in Senior Girls, the gold medals went to Shivangi Jamwal and Yashika Jamwal, Manisha Kumari
In Mini Girls, Manya, Anita, Lavayna Prisha, Vidhanshi, Vidhanti, Mridul, Shivanshi, Manvi, Ananya, while in boys
Mayank, Tarun, Adharv, Mohd Suleman,
Aadhavan, Arjun, Amrit Gupta, Gourav, Ridham Sharma, Gurpreet, Divag, Sunil, Munish, Shivam, Varun, Ritesh, Paramveer, Ujwal, Karanjeet, Gulshan, Shashank Baru, Rinku Kumar and Vikram Sharma
In Girls, the gold medals went to Khushi Thakur, Sehar, Komal, Amrita and Shivangi.
