Udhampur girl honoured with Sailife-NOST Best Thesis Award

JAMMU, Dec 13: A girl from Udhampur Dr Neha Gupta, D/o Joginder Gupta and Sushma Gupta, who has done her Ph.D. under Prof Manoj Kumar at Department of Chemistry, GNDU, Amritsar,has been awarded with Sailife-NOST Best Thesis Award 2018.
She has done her research work under the title “Small Molecule Based Fluorescent Probes: Design, Synthesis and Applications in Bio-Sensing and Diagnostics”.
Her work mainly focuses on exploring new molecules for diagnosis of diseases in living systems.
She first nominated her research work for this award to Prof Sandeep Verma, Department of Chemistry, IIT Kanpur and then, her thesis work was chosen for this award by a jury approved by the President of National Organic Symposium Trust (NOST).
Among the various students from numerous reputed institutes and research laboratories, she along with 8 other students from India was chosen for this award and it seems a great achievement for her. The award carrying a memento, certificate and a cash prize of Rs 10,000 was presented to her during XIV J-NOST 2018, being organized in CSIR-IICT, Hyderabad in a specially organized award function.
