JAMMU, Dec 14: MV International School celebrated its 14th Annual Day “Zest-2018” with phenomenal fervor and gusto at General Zorawar Singh Auditorium, University of Jammu today.
K B Aggarwal, Financial Commissioner Housing and Urban Development Department was the chief guest, while Star performer Stanzin Edzes of ‘Voice Kids’ and ‘Love me India’ fame was special guest. Hira Lal Abrol, Chairman, Savita Abrol, Vice Chairperson, Directors Gourav Abrol, Aakriti Abrol and Kundan Lal Dogra, Principal of the school along with parents of the students also graced the occasion.
Major highlight of celebration was presentation of 19 branded laptops to meritorious students of class 12th who scored above 90 per cent marks in CBSE examinations. Five district toppers and four subject wise 100 per cent scorers of class 12th were also felicitated during the program.
Earlier, the program commenced with the lighting of the lamp and solicitation to Lord Ganesha. Paras Jamwal Head Boy and Kanika Chadgal Head Girl welcomed the guests.

The cultural program aptly named as ‘Zest-2018’ exhibited hues of our culture and its celebrations. Class 1st students celebrated ‘A Day in the Timeworn West’ and class 4th raised the voice of nature in dance drama ‘Prakriti ki Pukar’. ‘A Fable of Grufalo’ was interestingly presented by the toddlers of UKG which was followed by a presentation on ‘Yoga’ and ‘Mahabharta’ respectively by students of classes 2nd to 8th and class 7th. 123 students were felicitated for 100 per cent attendance in the academic session.
‘J&K Accession’ and supreme sacrifice of Brig Rajinder Singh Jamwal, MVC was a hair raising act by students of class 5th, classes 2nd and 3rd presented a fusion of ‘East & West’, prep students presented ‘Festivities at Disney land’ which was followed by a self defence show by the ‘Spartans of MVIS’.
School Principal presented the annual report and shared achievements and successes in academics and co-curricular activities.
Special prize distribution was organized for the class wise toppers from class 1st to 11th and they were presented with ‘Scholar’s Blazer’, Merit Certificate & Chairman’s Award for academic excellence. Another set of thirty (30) achievers of national level sports and co-curricular activities were felicitated during the ceremony.
Music Department rose the momentum of celebration to a high level by their ‘Melodic Potpourri’ followed by presenters from students of classes 7th and 8th who exhibited immense coordination with colourful props.
On the end ‘Nachde Chel Chabilay’ from classes 9th and 11th burned the stage by their outstanding performance. The victors house lifted Rolling Trophy for being the best house in CCA for the session 2018-19.
The chief guest along with other dignitaries gave away the prizes to the meritorious performers.
