YIO Chairman discusses child rights issues with Governor

JAMMU, Jan 28: Vivek Raina, Chairman, Youngs India Social Welfare Organization, J&K, called on N. N. Vohra, Governor, at Raj Bhavan here today.
Mr. Raina briefed the Governor about the activities of the Youngs India Social Welfare Organization which are aimed at the promotion and protection of child rights. He also highlighted the need for setting up a State Commission for protection of child rights in J&K.
The Governor emphasized the high importance for enlarging awareness in regard to the available safeguards for the protection of child rights, adding that NGOs and other social organizations can play an important role in supplementing the efforts being made to secure this objective.
The Governor observed that he would be addressing Sakina Itoo, Minister for Social Welfare, regarding the suggestions made by Mr. Raina, as their implementation would contribute towards advancing the rights of children in J&K.
