SRINAGAR, Jan 28: Six burglars were arrested and large quantity of stolen merchandize worth lakhs of rupees was recovered from them in the Sopore area.
A police spokesman said that Sopore police has succeeded in apprehending six burglars and from their instances large quantities of stolen merchandize were recovered from different places.
The spokesman identified the arrested burglars as Ishfaq Ahmad Wani, son of Mohammad Shafi resident of Arampora-Sopore, Shabir Ahmad Siraj, son of Abdul Hamid resident of Model Town, Arafat Ahmad Sofi, son of Ghulam. Hassan resident of Nowpora, Adil Akbar Bhat, son of Mohammad Akbar resident of Rebban, Salman Khan, son of Nazir Khan resident of Arampora-Sopore and Javaid Ahmad, son of Ghulam Nabi resident of Arampora-Sopore. Two of the arrested were the receivers of the stolen property.
