POONCH, Dec 17: District Hockey Championship in Sub Junior, Junior Boys and Senior Men and Women categories commenced at sports stadium, here.
In the opening match in Junior Boys category, Stadium XI defeated Young Star Stadium XI by 4-1 goals. For stadium XI, Jagmeet scored 2 goals, while Kavleen and Vishal scored one goal each. Jagmeet was the lone goal scorer for Young Star in 14th minute of the match.
The championship is being organized by Hockey Poonch under the aegis of Hockey J&K and sponsored by J&K State Sports Council.
DySP Operations Bhesam Dubey was the chief guest on the occasion, while prominent others present were Nirdosh Kumar Manager Sports Stadium Poonch, Ravinder Singh Tanveer Dar Senior Hockey player, Parvaiz Ahmed Chairman EHSAAS Foundation Poonch, Vijay Kumar PEM, Pawan Kumar Hockey Coach, Matinderpal Singh Hockey Coach, Sourab Sharma, Ram Prakash and large number of hockey lovers.
The match was officiated by the technical panel comprising Navjot Singh, Sunil Raina, Shobit Tandon and Shokat.
The championship is being conducted under technical supervision of Mukesh Kumar Hockey Coach.
