SAMBA, Dec 20: A Zen car bearing registration number JK02AE9754 caught fire at National Highway opposite Sabzi Mandi Samba tonight under mysterious circumstances and the driver and other inmates travelling in it had a narrow escape.
As per reports, the owner of the car who was a local resident had come for marketing along with his family i.e wife and two children in the market tonight. As the car came out from Sabzi Mandi area and reached on NH suddenly its engine sparked and smoke came out of it.
Realizing the trouble, the driver and other inmates jumped out of the car and within friction of seconds it caught fire and was destroyed beyond recognition.
However, on the swift action of police and locals the fire tender was pressed into service to extinguish the fire. The traffic on National Highway was closed till the fire was extinguished completely.
