JAMMU, Dec 21: Flaying the ‘suppression, exploitation and harassment’ of lower rung employees by successive State Governments, Harsh Dev Singh, Chairman JKNPP demanded release of long pending wages and regularization of services of DRWs, need based workers, casual labourers and contractual working staff in various government departments.
Singh said that many of these employees are protesting in open demanding regularization of their services and release of their long pending wages but regretted that the government had failed to do anything for these people.
Highlighting the grave concerns of SPOs working in Police Department, Harsh Dev said as many as 25,000 SPOs across the State have been drawing a meagre salary till date.
Maintaining that several SPOs have been rendering their services for more than 10-15 years in stringent and life threatening conditions, he advocated for enhancement of their salary to respectable amount besides regularization of their services.
Harsh Dev appealed to the Governor and the President of India to address the issues of casual, contractual and other similar type of employees on priority to bring good days for lakh of family members dependent on such employees.
