MENDHAR, Dec 22: The fourteen -day long Shaheed Aurangzeb (SC) Rural Sports competition of Football, Volleyball, Kabaddi, Kho-Kho and Athletics, under GoI’s Khelo India Scheme organized by State Sports Council concluded at OP Hill Stadium here today.
Deputy Commissioner Poonch Rahual Yadav was the chief guest on the occasion, who while congratulating the winners and runners-up boys and girls appreciated the faculty members of various government Schools as well as parents of the players who encouraged their children to participate in sports events besides concentrating on their academics.
CO 37RR Col Mohit Agarwal was the guest of honour.
The event was organized under the supervision of incharge District Youth Services and Sports Officer Poonch.
Prominent among those present on the occasion were ACD Poonch Abdul Qayoom Mir, Tehsildar Mendhar Ravi Shanker, SDPO Mendhar Neeraj Padyar, BDO Mendhar Ashiq Rafiq Malik, Major M P Singh Senior PDP Leader and Sarpanch Harni Waseem Ahmed Khan, besides Master Basharat Khan, Master Shahnaz Khan and Master Qasim.
