JAMMU, Dec 22: To expose children to music, KCIS hosted 13th Inter-school music competition ‘Sur Sangam’ in which around 15 reputed schools of Jammu participated.
Rakesh Gupta, President Chamber of Commerce & Industries, Jammu was the chief guest on the occasion who was welcomed by Senior Vice Chairperson, Saroj Mahajan and Vice Chariman, Chaitanya Chowdhary.
Among the judges were Naresh Sharma, Guitarist & Vocalist, Sunil Sharma Vocalist & Music Composer and Sahil Sharma Guitarist & Vocalist. All of them are the leading musicians of Jammu.
The categories for the competition were junior category, senior category and solo.
The programme started with the lighting of lamp followed by a welcome dance.
The hall was filled with children, brimming with enthusiasm and eagerness to showcase their talent. The students were well prepared for the competition.
The judges the appreciated musical tone and texture of the students.
In Junior Group Song Category, KC International School bagged 1st position, Heritage Public School won second place and the third place was bagged by DBN Amarvilla School, while in Senior Group Song Category, Jammu Sanskriti School won first place, Rich Harvest School got second place and KC International School.
In Solo Song Category, GD Goenka Public School bagged first place, while KC International School and Jodhamal Public School claimed 2nd and 3rd position respectively.
Finally, the vote of thanks was presented by the Principal, Subendhu Sarkar, who lauded the efforts put in by the staff and students of different schools in making this event a grand success.
He also appreciated the efforts of music teacher- Mamta Kalotra and Michael.
The event was organized by Nidhi D Bhosale, Headmistress and Rajni Malhotra, Activity Coordinator.
