Rajput Sabha demands rotation, delimitation of Assembly seats

SAMBA, Dec 24: Shri Amar Kashtriya Rajput Sabha, District Samba Unit, has demanded constitution of Delimitation Commission and rotation of reserved Assembly constituencies besides announcement of Gazetted holiday on birth anniversary of Maharaja Hari Singh.
While addressing a press conference, here today, Samba district president of the Rajput Sabha, Capt (Retd) Inder Singh Sambyal stressed that delimitation of the Assembly constituencies should be done at the earliest to do away the disparity with Jammu region,
” Kashmir division has lesser population as well as area in comparison to Jammu but despite that Valley has nine more seats, which is the root cause of power imbalance between the two regions and discrimination,” he explained.
Capt Sambyal also demanded that eight percent reservation of the Assembly seats should be spread all over J&K and not only in Jammu division. “By affecting rotation, three seats should be reserved in Jammu and four in Kashmir Valley,” he said.
The Rajput Sabha leader also appealed Governor Satya Pal Malik to announce Gazetted holiday on September 23 on account of birth anniversary of Maharaja Hari Singh and positively consider other demands also.
The press conference was attended by Surjeet Singh, Suram Singh, Waryam Singh, Mohan Singh, Shivdarshan Singh, Gotam Singh, Rakesh Singh, Rakesh Sambyal and others.
